Diana Dyer, RD, MS Fee Range: $4,000 - $9,500 Speaker's Home Base: MI As a Registered Dietitian, 3-time cancer survivor, and author of the highly regarded book, “A Dietitian’s Cancer Story,” Diana Dyer shares her personal cancer story and recovery path with cancer survivors, healthcare professionals and the general public. After her most recent cancer diagnosis in 1995, Diana chose to optimize her odds for recovery differently than her previous cancer experiences by using an integrated approach that combined conventional cancer therapies with diet changes and other complementary medicine therapies. Diana’s presentation shares how this challenging experience became a healing recipe, personally benefited her and also changed her professional career direction. Diana’s example of active hope will give all audience members both information and inspiration to optimize their own health and wellness while also living life to its fullest. Diana speaks frequently to both professional and cancer survivor groups. Her message is being taken seriously. She was invited to present to the annual meeting of the American Society of Breast Surgeons in 2005, the first breast cancer survivor and the first Registered Dietitian to receive such an honor. She was invited to present the 1st Annual Oncology Nutrition Grand Rounds at the Dana-Farber Cancer Center, Boston, MA in 2004. Diana received her B.S. degree in Biology from Purdue University. Her M.S. degree in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetic Internship were completed at The University of Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin Hospitals, respectively. In between cancer diagnoses, she has spent her 20-year career as a dietitian working in hospitals around the Midwest, specializing in nutritional care for the critically ill patient. Proceeds from the sale of her books (both the English and Spanish editions) are donated to The Diana Dyer Cancer Survivors’ Nutrition and Cancer Research Endowment at the American Institute for Cancer Research in Washington, D.C.
