Deb Gauldin, RN

On stage or off, Deb Gauldin is a very funny lady. Deb earned many of her laughlines as an obstetric nurse and childbirth educator. Some of the others came with stretchmarks, hence, the title of one of her most popular talks, "From Stretchmarks to Laughlines, A Woman’s Journey."

A professional recording artist, speaker, author and champion for women, Deb specializes in healthcare morale and women’s well being programs. With her acoustic guitar, creative lyrics and quick wit, she delights healthcare, women’s and nursing audiences, as only someone who knows the inside jokes can do.

Her songs range from the wacky to poignant and include such favorites as "PMS Blues," "Recovering Craft-a-holic," "Big Legged Woman," "Breasts with a Life of Their Own," and "I’m In Love with a Bald-Headed Man."

What women get from her programs is the ability to laugh at things in their lives that may otherwise be causing them distress. She says she comes up with most of her lyrics while folding clothes and vacuuming.

"I think people connect with me because I let them know that I’m imperfect, just like them," Deb says. "My central message is to encourage women to love and accept themselves just as they are."

In her nursing programs (which she designs inclusive of male nurses), she helps everyone get in touch with why they became nurses. Her humor and memorable props help everyone laugh at why they stay. Constantly reminding them to be better advocates for one another, Deb’s core message leaves participants feeling valued, respected, renewed and recommitted.

With Deb at the helm, the magic of music and laughter brings people together and helps them absorb information as well as release tension, and that’s a winning combination in any meeting planner’s book.
